What is your favourite book?
Hmmm..I used to hate people who had this habit(of reading books) initially.I thought they were a bit like these show-offs when they talk about the books they read.I then got introduced to this book reading habit because of my childhood friend.Initailly he introduced me to "Secret Seven" and "Famous Five" books by Enid Blyton(All mysteries involving kids).Slowly I graduated to the "Nancy Drew" and "Hardy Boys" series(both series composed by Carolyne Keene). And then I moved to books by Sidney Sheldon and James Hadly Chase(All his books were short mystery stories which I used to finish off within a day or two). Then came Rashmi(our very own team mate) into my life who started encouraging me to read non fictious books. The books she gave were really great though I do not remember the names now:(. I then strated off with P.S I Love you,but have just discontinued the same.(Huge book and you lose out on interest as you read). At present I have stopped reading books as my wife complains I am not giving her enough time;)
What degree did you do?
Well..I always wanted to get into commerce field(cos I thought its very simple compared to engineering and lot of my friends had the same plan) and my dad just hated it.He wanted me to do engineering at any cost cos he himself was an engineer.I never had the flair for it at all but I succumbed to the pressure and ended up doing the same.I did my engineering in Electrical and Electronics. And here I am in testing field which is no way related to the motors and cicuits I had studied(Not that I was interested in it anyways and infact I have just fogotten about 90% of what I studied). Moreover,I hold the record for least score in a degree in our entire team(62%,My wife is a shade better. She secured 65%)
How do you spend your free time / what hobbies do you have?
My favourite time pass in life has always been drinking and chatting with friends. There were days when me amd my friends used to start the day at around ten in the morning with drinking and do bar hopping till about one in the night. We guys never missed a chance to drink. We made it a rule to first drink and do anything else later and we ended up drinking more.We then thought of doing things little differently. We decided to drink first and then rush to the theatre to watch a movie. The plan started falling out and we were back to square one(drinking ONLY).Well now after my marriage I have completely cut down and lost touch.I drink probably once a month(Thanks to my wife) and feels good as well:)The only other hobby I can think of is playing cards. We guys used to bunk college to play cards the whole day;)
What is your favourite sport?
My favourite sport is as most of the Indians,it is cricket.I do enjoy watching the games, but I just suck big time at playing the game.I used to love playing football to some extent during my school days(was in the school team then).
One thing which I loved most was playing with marbles(pretty famous amongst local crowd in India,"goli").I was a champ at it.We friends used to bet while playing the game and used to take up the game very seriously.Sometimes we used to end up fighting as well, funny old days!!!Well now I play badminton at times(Not very great at it).Lastly,I was the captain of my group's baseball team in school and led my team to victory.
Given a long vacation, which country would you love to visit?
Well I always want to visit the U.S cos it is the U.S!!!(no other reason for it).Another place I would love to visit is "Egypt"(I have always wanted to see those massive pyramids and wondered how they managed to come up with such a structure at such an early age when modern equipments didn’t exist).I have started to love U.K as well and I am glad I came here though it was not in the list of places I should visit.
If you won a significant amount of money, what would you do?
My friend and myself always had this fantasy to start off a "Biryani" shop in Bangalore. If I won a significant amount of money,I would start off a string of "biryani" shops all over India and obviously retire from IT( I would love to taste biryani rather than test software;)).
Who are the important people in your life?
Yes!!It is my family and friends:)I have always felt a person's character is defined by the amount of friends he/she has.I have always wanted to earn my friends with my character and have been quite succesful till now:).
I am little religious too and have always felt that God is also an integral part of my life.
What's your favourite food and what was the last thing you ate?
My mothers mutton biryani and my wife's mutton keema are my favourite. The last thing I ate was egg curry prepared by my wife(Was really delicious!!!)
Above all else, what one thing would you most like to do?
I am a guy who does not have any big ambition in life.
One thing I would love to do is keep people happy.I have been succesfull at doing that though at times I do end up hurting others(sometimes overly sarcastic, need to cut down at it)
Name one thing no-one else on the team knows about you…
Ha ha..Well they say cupid can strike you any moment. It struck me when I was twelve.I proposed to a gal when I was in school(No further details to be revealed!!!).(Well my wife does know aboout it!!Infact the gal and my wife were class mates during engineering;)).Even now my wife and myself laugh thinking about the fact.
